A NATIONAL CRISIS!
On any given day, there are almost 450,000 children in the foster care system. They are moved from home to home as many as 15 to 20 or more times before they “age out” of the system. Almost every time they move, they are given a trash bag in which to pack all their belongings. Whatever doesn’t fit is left behind. Most of these kids feel unloved, not needed, and like the bags they receive, like trash.
This is called a foster kid TRAGEDY! Trash bags are for trash, not for foster kids’ belongings. When foster kids “age out” of the system, many of them end up in prison or in drug or human trafficking. It’s a foster kid CRISIS!
To carry out our mission of meeting needs of kids and their families, Forever Kids started the Case for Character (CFC) project. This foster kid tragedy must stop, and we aim to help end it.
